4th of July Tri-Fold Mini

Let the 4th of July Celebration begin!
With the 4th among us this week I wanted to create a little tri-fold mini to sit upon the table for all to enjoy.
Also to inspire you to create  home decor items with your scrapbooking supplies.
To look outside the box!
Like taking this 7gypsies tri-fold journal card to create a little mini.
Here is a little look at front pages of the mini...
back side of little mini...
I started with a tri-fold journal card, gessoed lightly over the card-sprayed with homemade mist with brushed cordrury reinker and water.
Used walnut stain distress ink to ink the edges of the card, papers and embellishments.
Papers are 7gypsies Epicuream 6x6 paper pad cut down to 2.5x3.5 torn the edges and inked.
Die cut stars out of e-fluted kraft cardstock sheet, tied twine and button (also glimmer mist the stars).
Used a chalk marker to write Happy 4th of July on the chalkboard paper.
Fuzzy cut out images from the paper line for embellishments.

Canvas Pocket Home Decor

I am really enjoying creating little home decor projects to adorn my home for the 4th of July celebration that is just around the corner...and I love grunge primitive wall pockets!
I had to create a little flag wall pocket using Canvas Corp's mini canvas shape pocket (which are great for creating mini banners). But a light turned on and I said ohhh a mini wall pocket with a glimmer mist painted flag would be adorable.

Here it is....
Mini Canvas Flag Wall Pocket!
The mini canvas pocket comes sewed up.
I carefully inserted my sharp scissors into the back of the pocket.
Being sure to only cut through one layer of the canvas.
Punched two tiny wholes on the corners to add wire through.
Tore a 1/4 inch canvas sheet strip.
Sprayed with tattered leather glimmer mist to grunge it up.
Hot glued to wire wrap, then wrapped canvas strip around the wire hanger.
Flag:
I freehand a flag in pencil.
Started to paint with Tattered Angels mist.
Blue: Imperial Blue Simply Sheer
Red: Chilli Pepper Red Simply Sheer
Grunge: Tattered Leather Glimmer Mist
Splats: Graphite Glimmer Mist
White: gesso
Star:
I traced on the back of E-Flute in White, cut out the star.
Grunged it up with Distress Ink-Brushed Corduroy.
Button from my stash.
Burlap twine to finish it off.
To finish this little prim wall pocket I added some cranberry pipe berries.
I love all the canvas strings hanging!

Thanks for stopping in,
Peggy Lee

Vintage Telegram Keepsake Box

A mini album needs a keepsake box to sit in...while shopping at my local dollar store I found this box and knew right off that I was going to alter it with Marion's new Vintage Telegram printables. I am thrilled with the way it came out so shabby vintage and wow I love pink. Grab a cup of coffee and enjoy reading and gazing at all the photos there is alot but I wanted to make sure you could see every bit of this adorable box and how beautiful the printables are.
The box measures roughly 9x6.5, I had to print out two of each design I used. Which wasn't bad at all and with the scraps I fuzzy cut out images to pop up and give the box some depth.
My daughter found some dollar store frames that were green I painted them white, sprayed patina glimmer mist added cream paint, sanded sprayer tattered leather glimmer mist. Then dry brushed on gesso, sanded a little more and I love how it came out.
I distressed all the edges of the papers and cut a small piece of paper and glued it to the under side of the cover piece of paper to be able to roll the top layer back with having the under piece showing added some gems. This is a fun and creative way to showcase your papers!
Seam binding colored with glimmer mist!!
To give depth I glued a piece of chipboard under the cut outs to pop them up out of the frame. I really like to give height to my creations.
I tucked in tiny flowers and a wood piece along with some of the cut outs from the printables.
I sprayed patina glimmer mist on the eggs and added Stickles to the flowers.
The butterfly is cut out from one of the printable pages!!
This is my fav!!

Handmade stick pin from my stash, every projects needs a paper doily!
I love the little crystal gems peaking out here and there...

These printable pages Marion design are distressed beautifully!

Here is a video to share with you...enjoy!

Romance Novel Christmas Pin/Ornament

Upon this Christmas Eve I wanted a special Christmas pin to wear to Church service tonight. I thought why not use one of these store bought snowflakes (come in many colors) and add some Romance Novel paper scraps I have laying on my workspace. Couldn't resist using this Prima flower with bling turning out to be one of my fav's!!
Added some Prima leaves (they were gold tone colors) I colored them with Tattered Angels Olive vine glimmer mist and Perfect Pearls Mist Heirloom gold. Tucked in a Prima Genie Stone to dangle and finish it with a pin back and you have a one of kind pin or ornament to give as a gift or wear.
(thought of Marion with the green gem stone)
so pretty pinned to a handmade scarf

Christmas Eye Candy!!!

Giving some Christmas Cheer-my husband's work did a secret Santa exchange so he ask if I could create a card gift set and I was thrilled to create for him, so I started with a 12x12 cream card stock cut at 4 inches to make 3 cards 4x6 size (great way to save on card stock). I had purchased the Creative Imaginations IOD Christmas papers (Joy cards and Rejoice) at my local scrapbook store. I really love the vintage feel of this paper line and with my vintage mother of pearl buttons, seam binding and simple dollar store Christmas decorations...whoola beautiful gift set.
Christmas eye candy - got to love those glittery and sparkly snowflakes (that come in many colors). Delish!
The gift set came with 6 one of kind cards with envelopes, an ornament, 8 gift tags and a french fry box (cut from the CTMH Artiste Cricut Cartridge).
Simple and Vintage feel of spreading Christmas Cheer, Hope and Joy!!!!
enjoy creating,

Grand Mini "Christmas Memories" 2012

I just love this Grand Printable Mini Kit by Marion Smith is so rich and beautiful prints. I had in mind at first that I was going to create a Gratitude Mini with this kit but then decided I just love the sparkle of Christmas with these designs. I knew it was perfect for a special Christmas gift.
The add ons fit just perfectly with the mini and Prima flowers, doilies and crepe paper tissue, add a little glitz glitter and wow you have such a cute little pocket page.
The digital pages are so beautiful in prints that simple and clean was the way I decided to embellish this mini.
Tip-look around your scrap room in your supplies that you have created but haven't  found it's way onto a project just yet, like this tree tag I had created about a dozen of them for a craft fair and only had a few left. Which I know would go perfect with this blue strip Chevron pattern.

A jingle bell adorn this little reindeer gazing into the snowflake delight....oh boy I have Christmas on my mind, it's the season!!!
A close up of the snowflake on the cover-simple and easy, paper doily with crepe paper rosette with snowflake ornaments make beautiful embellishments.

Happy Holidays, Peggy Lee

3D Bird House Ornament

While pulling out my Christmas decorations this year, I ran across this cute little bird house that I had made using one of Marion Smith's printables.   They were so much fun to make. I think I made dozens the a few years ago. With everyone preparing to decorate for the holidays, I thought it would be fun to share them with you today.  You can download the pattern here...

I printed my pattern onto a transparency then cut it out.  I then embossed it with a  Sizzix folder, and alcohol inked it green to give it a coke bottle effect. I used  crinkled basket paper in kraft to create a nest on the inside.  The roof was made with aluminum foil that was embossed then inked brown with alcohol ink.   I decorated it with some holly and a few Prima Fairy Tale Roses that were died red.  The sign was a small oval balsa wood shape that was stained with walnut ink and I hand wrote Home with a white gel pen.  I added a little mushroom bird that I'd gotten from the floral section, then sprinkled a little snow here and there for a winter look.

This little guy has been living on my tree since 2010. That Christmas my husband and I had bought my daughter a car, and we hid the key in the little house.  Since such a sweet gift was enclosed. I kept this one for myself, and every year we talk about the gift as we drag the ornament out of the box.

I love making these, and I've given some away with gift cards tucked inside. If you are careful how you attach the roof, it can be opened and closed.

I love having hand made ornaments on my tree. If you make these, I would love to see yours on the Artsy Addicts Facebook wall. Please be sure to tag me.

Thanks for stopping in today,
