Fabric Wrapped Bracelet & One Little Word for 2014

Good morning Artsy Addicts peeps....
I have a little gem to share with you for some time now I have wanted to create a fabric wrapped bracelet!! Yes I have been so inspired by Pinterest there are many beautiful handmade jewelry eye candy! With inspiration and the One Word for the Year has been on my mind....
I have known I wanted to use "courage" as my word..
Just now having time to create a little gem
 to remind me..to have
 "courage".
I started with a torn piece of muslin and Marion Smith Designs stamps "Curious and Typo".
Stamped the word "courage" in Archival Ink in black.
Sewed another piece of torn muslin together...I just stitched over and over...for texture.
Grabbed my Tattered Angels glimmer mist started to spray away...along with more stamping!
Also glimmer mist my seam binding....and to protect the mist from
running I brushed on a thin layer of multi-medium matte.
Punched my holes for the eyelets!!!!
Added some jump rings, chain and Junque Gems by Marion Smith...
along with my favorite little vintage mother of pearl button with the thread
still in it....oh love this...
"courage"-gems clock for "time"-tea cup for "relax-take it in"
& vintage button "remember we I have come from".....

Thanks for stopping by today!

Take "courage" and create!

Nirvana Christmas Card!!

Good morning and welcome to December!!!
It's Christmas Time...
To start our celebration here in our home, I have started to collect the
Holiday decorations, and also create some one of a kind
home decor...
Who doesn't make Christmas Cards?
I do make special ones for my special family and friends...
But I also love to make a few and leave them around my home in my decorations!
Here is one I've created using
Marion Smith's new paper collections "Nirvana"!!
I love the vintage feel...earth tones...and of course touches
of trims and lace!
I just love this image of the little girl that is on
one of the embellishment pages.
This little image could be my youngest daughter..so I knew
I wanted to use this image in my decor displays with pics
of my girls...love it
Vintage sheet music I used to create the Rosette...
Used a Tim Holtz stencil with gesso to create the
background.

Tattered Dress Form Canvas Art

I have been adding texture to this canvas piece for awhile now...every time I used some stucco and gesso with stencil mask I would use up the extra onto this canvas.
I created the dress form for another project that I haven't finished so the inspiration for the background colors came from the dress form.
Dress form I white washed with gesso, grunge it up with Distress Ink Brushed Corduroy with water.
Then started dripping Tattered Angels glimmer mist down the sides of the dress form
and letting it run down and around the body.
Stamped the dress form with a few 7gpysies stamps with archival black ink.
You can just keep adding layers of mist, ink!!
Oh don't forget to do glimmer splats...
I learned this techqinue from Marion Smith a few years back on grunging a dress form.
I knew I wanted to create some paper cone wing shape wreath..
Cut up an olde scrabble game pages into 2x2 squares
and began to roll into a cone shape, glued down
and tucked behind the dress form.
White washed the cones with a few little sprays of glimmer mist to match the background
and more splats!!
Oh adding a chain with dangles with a Petaloo Color Me Flower..
with glimmer mist and stamping
creates adorable touch.
close up of the stamping
Oh I love how the stamping shows up on the Petaloo flower!!!
Finial touch was adding a Art-i-Cake headpin to the top of
dress form...
Love the texture of the canvas background! I encourage you to grab some Tattered Angels Glimmer mist, paints and start playing....you never know where the art piece will lead you.

Vintage Telegram 31 Day Journal

I've been working on this beautiful mini album using Marion Smith's "Vintage Telegram" digital printables that you can find here. I decided to use it for my 31 Day Journal for the month of June, I can't wait to fill this mini up with wonderful family and friend memories! I will be sharing more on my journal here on this blog and my blog and I will be creating some videos be sure to stop over. With my journal I also wanted to create some wrinkle and stain paper which I created a little tutorial you can see below as well as a little video sharing it too.
I wanted to buy new supplies to use with this digital design but decided I needed to use up some of my stash...I love using one of the journal spots as my title focal point, tucking in a clock die cut and a handmade flower with fuzzy cutting out images from the line to embellish. Delish!
You know me I had to use something vintage and old in my projects..don't you just love the center of the flower! It's a olde ear ring that I repurposed fabulous!!

Tea stain handmade paper:
1. using copy/printer paper
2. boil water in a sauce pan with 3-4 tea bags
3. place paper in tea water bath
4. soak for desire tea stain look (15 minutes is good medium tone)
5. pull paper out of tea bath and place on wire racks to drip dry
6. crumble the paper up in your hands and allow to dry a bit longer
7. unwrap gently to avoid tearing (but I love the tears)
8. let air dry or spead up drying by using your heat tool
9. cut paper down to size for your project
10. iron the papers to help shrink paper to fit flat in your mini
enjoy with your projects...
See how full and wrinkle the paper gets LOVE!
enjoy the video

Spread Your Wings Tag

That's exactly how I felt this past weekend, I could have spread my wings and flown away! If I had wings well I could have created some. What a busy time it was you see my youngest daughter had Prom this past weekend and you all know how getting ready for Prom is so busy and sometimes crazy and a little stressful but in the end it's one of the most beautiful times in your teenagers life.
Along with busy weekend with Prom my oldest daughter who is away to college turned 20 years old on Sunday and since her college is only 3 hours away we decided to drive down and surprise her on her special day lets just say she cried and bear hugged us to death...what a blessed weekend.
Let's get to the tag before I start to cry!
"Spread Your Wings" fits so well with this tag it all started with the butterfly stamp from 7gypsies.
I had stamped the butterfly onto Canvas Corps Ivory Chipboard Handmade Paper oh my this paper is amazing and thick! I just randomly ripped a piece off  then stamped the butterfly. Also stamped another butterfly on a separate piece of the same paper to cut out and pop up to give the butterfly some movement and depth.
Colored with a couple of markers, added some splatters of Tattered Angels Graphite glimmer mist.
And this is the end result-Love It!
Tag Tutorial
Step 1: I stamped randomly on some tissue paper to create my own background.
Step 2: On my craft sheet sprayed different colors of blue mist from Tattered Angels, then dipped the tag repeatedly into mist to give color depths. (this part is really cool because it's always different every time).
also used Graphite glimmer mist in areas for shading...same as above.
Step 3: Using gel medium glued the tissue paper to both sides of tag.
Step 4: This part is one of my faves I laid down a Prima crackle mask and using stucco and gesso smoothed over the mask to give the tag some peaks and depth...let it dry.
Step 5: Burlap Flower and Leaves-using Canvas Corps colored burlap in slate grey and smokey blue perfect colors to match the tag...I cut the burlap to fit over the Tattered Floral die by Tim Holtz. I also used the Tattered Leaves die by Tim Holtz in the natural burlap for the leaves.
Since I used natural burlap I used Army Green Simply Sheer mist.
Amazing color!
Step 6: In order to keep the burlap flower from falling apart I used a nice layer of gel medium over the flowers and leaves to hold it's shape, plus you can mold your flower into shape. Let it dry then glue together.
And there you have your tag!
Also I did color seam binding and cheese cloth to match the blues with the same mist. Did some random stamping on the tag added some splatters with some glimmer mist. Then on Kraft card stock wrote in sharpie marker my title cut apart and outlined the words and adhered down.
I hope you enjoyed this tutorial, I know I did while creating this tag and funny thing is my daughters Prom dress was the same shades of blue. Which gives me inspiration for a scrapbook layout with her Prom pics.
See inspiration is all around us...

Thanks for starting your week with me.

Happy Easter Banner

With Easter being this weekend I thought I would create a little wall art to hang in my home. I knew I wanted a vintage feel, I was drawn to this 7gypsies paper collection "Trousseau". This paper collection is so vintage inspired pretty, I started with layering different size pieces of the beautiful paper collection, distressed the edges (can you believe there is no ink at all). The base is made out of a 7gypsies Ringed Accordion (naked journal board book) that I took apart and now can create little wall arts for my home.
I rolled one side of the paper to give depth and a place to tuck little goodies in....
I of course had to fuzzy cut out the roses from one of the papers, added the collection stickers "Trousseau" to write "happy easter"
Did you see I tucked in "mother of pearl buttons" here and there!!!
got to have mother of pearl buttons...
I had rolled some sheer material to create a little shabby rosette!
Added a pearl button for the center, with a stick pin to tuck behind it.
And a little bling and lace trims.
This is a great start on my Easter decoration and yes "little vintage inspired".
What have you created to celebrate Easter?
Happy Easter,
hugs Peggy Lee

Vintage Telegram Keepsake Box

A mini album needs a keepsake box to sit in...while shopping at my local dollar store I found this box and knew right off that I was going to alter it with Marion's new Vintage Telegram printables. I am thrilled with the way it came out so shabby vintage and wow I love pink. Grab a cup of coffee and enjoy reading and gazing at all the photos there is alot but I wanted to make sure you could see every bit of this adorable box and how beautiful the printables are.
The box measures roughly 9x6.5, I had to print out two of each design I used. Which wasn't bad at all and with the scraps I fuzzy cut out images to pop up and give the box some depth.
My daughter found some dollar store frames that were green I painted them white, sprayed patina glimmer mist added cream paint, sanded sprayer tattered leather glimmer mist. Then dry brushed on gesso, sanded a little more and I love how it came out.
I distressed all the edges of the papers and cut a small piece of paper and glued it to the under side of the cover piece of paper to be able to roll the top layer back with having the under piece showing added some gems. This is a fun and creative way to showcase your papers!
Seam binding colored with glimmer mist!!
To give depth I glued a piece of chipboard under the cut outs to pop them up out of the frame. I really like to give height to my creations.
I tucked in tiny flowers and a wood piece along with some of the cut outs from the printables.
I sprayed patina glimmer mist on the eggs and added Stickles to the flowers.
The butterfly is cut out from one of the printable pages!!
This is my fav!!

Handmade stick pin from my stash, every projects needs a paper doily!
I love the little crystal gems peaking out here and there...

These printable pages Marion design are distressed beautifully!

Here is a video to share with you...enjoy!
