Best Wishes Card and Sketch using Washi Tape by Peggy Lee

Morning peeps, it's Peggy Lee here
sharing my take on Tonya's Card Sketch....
You all can play along for more details-you can find them here.
Challenge is to use (washi tape) on your project!!
Here is my take on Tonya's Sketch..
"Best Wishes" Card
Card base is 4 1/4 x 5 1/2
I grabbed a few of my washi tape collections (which I have discovered
that I need more, yes more washi tape...)
I had a paper doily sitting on my table which I colored it
with Distress Ink in spun sugar and a little water!!
For texture I splatted some ink watered down onto the card.
I took my center washi tape and covered a piece of paper then die cut out
a tag shape....cut out another piece of white paper to stamp
"Best Wishes" onto popped them both up and glued a twine bow on!!
Oh embellished with a button and sequins...
There you have it my finished card...so cute!!
Thanks for stopping by and won't you play along with our
Sketch Challenge, here.
We would love to see what you create!

Peggy Lee

A Little Shabby.....

I was playing with some textures and color with mists...so I decided to create a couple of shipping tags with Marion Smith's new "Scarlet" printable digitals that you can purchase at www.marionsmithdesigns.com.
Using a stucco/gesso mixture and a mask created texture on the paper cover tags. Then spraying different mist here and there to add color/tones to the tags...and splats of glimmer mist!!!
On this blue-ish tone tag, I made a sikly handmade flower with pearls, tucked in some colored Petaloo (color me crazy) flowers cut in half. Took a tag embellishment cut from "Scarlet" embellishment digital sheet, cut the tag in half and tucked behind the silky flower. Punched out a butterfly also out of the "Scarlet" digital page...Also added texture and painted the chipboard cherry blossom piece. Last bit of touches was adding vintage seqins and pearl stickpin...

This tag with demask stucco/gesso texture background with pinks/brown tones of color...so shabby chic!
Distressed a paper doily, with fuzzy cutting out rose, butterfly, and lady digital embellishments from the "Scarlet" digital collection. Of course this little tag needed some vintage frames and pink flowers with lace and seam binding....
Here are some pics of the steps for creating the backgrounds...
Digital papers covering the tags
and
Adding texture with stucco/gesso with Prima Masks....

Adding color with different mists...
don't forget the splatters!!!!
and the pink tag...

Hope enjoyed this little blog post sharing creating some gift tags...with textures and mist...

Peggy Lee

Garment District: Mini Tag Album

I was in need of a mini album for a special gift and I wanted this mini album to be able to hold only a few photos. Laying on my desk top was a plain shipping tag, and I knew that's it I could create shabby chic mini tag album for my friend. I couldn't resist I knew the Garment District Printables were just perfect for the album, plus I could use up my scraps from my other projects.
Supplies: are simple one shipping tag to trace on backside of printable, pencil to trace and scissors to cut out tags. Distress inks (brushed corduroy) and edge distresser to rough up the edges, hole punch and eyelet setter.
Garment District printable scraps, journal spots and embellishments, assorted trims, twine, lace and buttons/gems.
Making sure to used 3D pop dots to help give depth and places to tuck in little gems here and there.
For the little trim on the bottom of the tags, was a pretty bright white, I used Perfect Pearl Mist (blue patina) to help tone down and give a hint of vintage.
Hope I have inspired you to create your own personal gift tags from the new Garment District Printable designs available at www.marionsmithdesigns.com

Handmade for you, Peggy Lee

Scrap Tag.......You're It!!

Hi there.

I've been working on a huge project for the past few weeks (A custom 20 page scrapbook) and I'm accumulating lots of scraps. To save my sanity I decided to make a few tags using all my leftovers. I'm going to try to link up as many of the supplies as I can but I'm sure that I won't remember everything.

My first tag is mostly stamped. The tag base is PTI Tag Sale # 6 and it's stamped with Background Basics: Chevron stamp set in Yellow Yo-Yo ink. The tag topper (is that even what you call it?) is stamped with Polka Dot Basics II stamp set in Melon Berry ink.

Our next layer is a layered embellishment of a  Limitless Layers Die cut from Hawaiian Shores card stock. Then a die cut piece of wood grain patterned paper. Next is a small strip of Hambly Transparency with a Cream wood-grain pattern, Then two strips of white card stock stamped with Damask Designs stamp set in Raspberry Fizz card stock that I trimmed each end in a banner then a stamped (It's a My Mind's Eye Stamp, I think) piece of white card stock that I colored with Copics.

My second tag is mostly patterned paper scraps. The tag holder is a die cut from the Silhouette store that I die cut using a green and white chevron paper scrap.

Next I added a layered embellishment. I started with the same limitless layer die from PTI and die cut that from a kraft and white grid PP, next a punched a circle from a floral and text piece of pp. I then die cut a label from PTI Angled Labels die and stamped it with the coordinating Label Basics stamp set using PTI's Fine Linen ink.

After that I added a die cut a butterfly using PTI Beautiful Butterflies Die that I die cut from the paper that I used to die the tag topper from the first tag. Then I punched a piece of Summer Sunrise card stock using a Martha Stewart large butterfly punch.

The tag insert is hand cut from a piece of patterned paper layered on a piece of melon berry cardstock. The tab at the top is the mini oval tab die from My Favorite Things and it's die cut from the same piece of kraft and white grid patterned paper attached with a few staples using my tiny attacher. The sentiment stamp is from PTI.

These tags were so much fun to make and I felt great that my scraps weren't being stuffed into an overfilled drawer never to be seen again or even worse thrown out. I have a few of these tags framed up in my scrapbook room. They make great decorations. (I got that idea from Keisha Campbell).

See you all Sunday for another Simple Sunday card and we have another Artsy Addicts Featured Artist being showcased on Saturday.

And don't forget this Saturday is National Scrapbooking Day. What are you doing to celebrate?

Lastly, you've been scrap tagged? What's a scrap tag? Something I made up...Ha! I tag you all to make some tags from your scrap pile. You can add stamping if you like but all the papers, card stock, and embellishments must come from your scrap pile. Make sure you link me up in the comments or on FB. I'll pick a winner on monday.

Have a great weekend.
