Hi Artsy Addicts!

 

I am Leslie Rahye! I am wife of 21 years to my soul mate, mother to two amazing free-willed beings, and a daughter of devoted, loving parents. I've been crafting and creating since before I can remember, dabbling in everything from sewing, to oil painting, to scrapbooking, to photography to beadwork to crafty crafts--and many things in between. I've gifted my work. I've sold my work. I've used my work. 

I love to share projects and techniques with crafters of all skills. I continue to explore in creativity to keep myself fresh. I love mixed media and upcycled crafting as well as card making and hybrid crafting.

I became a fan of Marion's a few years back when she was creating a Halloween Mini for Prima. I loved her style and personality and continued to watch and follow her through her creative adventures. It is an honor to share my project with you today on Artsy Addicts!

Today I am sharing a Spooktacular Halloween card that I made using Marion's Something Wicked Halloween Mini Book Printable. I LOVE the papers in this download and they are the perfect size for card making projects as well as their intended purpose. The flowers and embellishments were all cut from the Something Wicked papers as well!

Trick or Treat - Halloween 2012

Mr. Cooper, my 5 year old Nephew, decided this year he wanted to be the "Dark Knight" for Halloween. I asked him why, and he said "Because he is cooler than Spiderman".  I believe he was Spiderman last year (lol).  I love to ask all the little ones year after year, why they have decided on their costumes. It is a fun way to add journaling to your layouts, and makes for interesting topics as they get older.

 

This year, I used Marion's digi downloads from the Something Wicked Halloween Mini Album to create my 12x12 layout.  By layering the smaller designs and fussy cutting out the iconic elements, I was able to make the layout interesting and fun.

 

I dropped some Tattered Angels - Clam Bake - Glimmer Mist on the background cardstock,  then blew on the droplets, to create a splattered effect.

 



 

I have shared many times, that I love incorporating older products. Sometimes you need to give them a fresh look to match newer lines or themes.  The chipboard letters that spell out Treat were PINK - yes - PINK, and I painted them with Orange Extreme Glitter Paint from Plaid. It took several coats to hide the pink - but it was well worth it.  I used the heat tool to bubbled up the paint, so that it would look grungy.   The buttons were a set of old buttons from 2002 Daisy Dee (who is no longer in business) - it is nice to have them completely used and out of my stash.  From the scrap pile, I used some scrap canvas that I had painted orange for a Prima BAP layout, to create the tab.   Since I didn't have enough letters to spell out Trick or, I just hand wrote them on the canvas.  The 2012 is a piece of Mylar confetti that I got for Brittany's Graduation party.  I love to collect these, they make great date references on your projects.

 

 

 

 

The real treat here - is the joy I get seeing the kids excited.  I love when they ring my door bell, I act scared, and they just giggle.

Spooky Something Wicked Halloween Mini Album

With Halloween being this week I couldn't resist to create with Marion Smith's new Something Wicked Halloween Mini Printable kit that you can purchase here from her website.

Here is the cover with glimmer misted Prima flowers and leaves with Marion's little printable tabs tucked in with the flowers.

 Here are some inside pages of the Spooky Mini, it's of my two girls and their friends getting ready for trick or treating the costumes went perfect with the printable. I decided to create my own faux washi tape, using the printable I just cut small strips of paper ripped on both ends, edges inked and taped down...what a great way to use up the little scraps that are leftovers.

 When you have multiple photos tape them back to back and punch holes and add them as pages with little tabs to add some cool interest in the mini. Don't you just love Marion's pages are so perfectly distressed all you have to do is add your photos, thanks Marion for wonderful digital printable to create with.

 Hope you all enjoy your Halloween Holiday and be safe....need some Halloween  party decoration purchase this kit and create cute little decorations to adorn your party. Like a BOO banner, cup cake flowers, treat bags, etc...
