Here is my Part 2 of the Recycled Mini Album...using card board from my recycle box.
I finished white washing the pages of my mini....inking the rough edges.
Tearing the photo mats out of Kraft printed paper...white washing with gesso
and adding plaster with a stencil to give even more texture.
Adding a chipboard cutout of a clock I had in my stash, gluing down
onto the cover...along with punching my holes and binding my mini
with white cording.
Roughly tore out a photo mat just shy of 5 x 7 size
inked edges and glued down.
Now time to finish the album repeating with photo mats.....
adding embellishments, cutouts of paper, staples, etc.
Splashes of glimmer mist.

This is so neat! I was searching for ideas to help me after pulling off 95% of the top cover of cardboard. I'm making a birthday card for my niece-in-law. I had tried using a white alcohol spray that I made, but cardboard was just soaking it up, so no color was really showing. I have gesso though! Thanks for unwittingly helping me! Love the clockface. Thanks-- Christine
ReplyDeleteThanks Christine, yes gesso works great on cardboard...make sure if you mist color over the cardboard you dry it with a heat tool will help with the cardboard tearing....I have another project with lots of color over on Marion Smith Designs blog here....http://marionsmithdesigns.blogspot.com/2014/01/love-thisepic-grunge-heart-with-wings.html

I just positively LOVE this project and am drawn to the idea of, well - how shall I say, "basic coloring". Nah, that's NOT "basic" ... it's dreamy warm. Anyway, I'm going to give this a spin and, as always, so appreciate your sharing with us. Barbara
ReplyDeleteoh Barbara I would love to see what you create, tag me on facebook if you are on....when your done...thanks again.
