I think we have a huge responsibility to protect our environment as much as possible. When I first saw Marion use packaging in her mini albums and as journal spots on her layouts a few years ago, I began saving mine for the same purpose. I want to share with you today how I have been "upcycling" my packaging in scrappy projects.
In this example I made a mini album using 4x6 photo sleeves as sheet protectors and the Prima packaging was used for photo mats.
Here I used my Tim Holtz & Nestabilities dies to turn Prima's beautiful inserts into embelishments.
I also used the blister packaging from Tim Holtz embelishments as a shaker box card.
I hope this gives you plenty of ideas on how to turn your trash into keepsakes.
Thanks for stopping by today,

I love those tips Tonya! I have been recycling the packaging forever, at crops the ladies I sit with usually have a ball giving me different pieces of "trash" and challenging me to make something useful from it. It's a great crop game and they always get thrilled when I make something pretty and hand back to them!
ReplyDeleteI'm totally into upcycling everything. Before anything goes in the recycle bin I think to myself....'hmmmm, can I use that?' I even have my husband doing the same thing! Thanks for the tips.
ReplyDeleteIt IS such a waste to see all that reusable product go to waste. I have one whole bookshelf devoted to upcycling products......pop cartons, pretty packaging, cereal boxes, acetate packaging, cans, anything that can be reused....well, it's a keeper:)

Great inspiration and ideas. Also a great way to save $$$ on embellies (so we can spend it on other embellies). Really like your examples.
